Fading in C# Minor

about

Having the same key as Moonlight Sonata, this track uses 50's Sci-Fi, a muted Wurlitzer, up-beat drums, and an amazing vocal from Jennifer Cook to convey a lost love. Searching the heart with the searing anguish of a broken love, the song intimately portrays the painful fading of once-precious moments.

But it also serves to be tragic and yearning, yet not depressing or morose. It is a fine line between the fullness of intention and the emptiness of dispair. which this song avoids with flourishes from an accordion solo and strong chorus stings at the finale.

A final farewell of the highest order.

lyrics

Fading in C#m

You got me off balance
something is wrong

missed you...last night
you were gone so long

can’t find your record
with your favorite song

With whom have you left yourself...
who has you right now?
You said, you’d never do this to me
you gave me your vow
but where would I look
if it’s you I needed to find?

You’re fading
you’re fading away

Don’t leave me
don’t leave me
don’t leave
don’t go...without me

you’re fading away

Don’t leave me
don’t leave me
don’t leave
don’t go...without me

don’t leave, don’t go, don’t leave
don’t go, don’t leave
don’t leave, don’t go, don’t leave

you can’t go
